Bio: I'm a married mom to 2 boys. I'm also a registered nurse living in Saskatoon, SK. I'm still figuring out what exactly I'm supposed to do with life. So I thought I would start a blog. I'm trying to write everyday, and the topics will vary greatly.

  1. I jokingly told our families a couple of years ago that we were going to move to Saskatoon. I didn’t know anything about Saskatoon; I’d just picked a place where we had no connections at all because I wanted to see their reactions. It turned out not to be a great plan for a joke—it wouldn’t have been the first time we’d moved to a place where we have no connections, and several of them took me seriously—but it got me reading about Saskatoon. The more I read about the city, the more interesting it looked. How do you find it as a place to live?

    • It is interesting! I’ve lived here most of my life. I like the size. About 300,000. We have a lot of diversity, and the huge university campus keeps it feeling young for the most part. Downtown is becoming more “trendy” with new restaurants opening all the time. Sometimes it still has a small town feel though, especially with the older generations. It’s small enough to get across town in 30-40 minutes. Our winters can be quite awful, but the summers make up for it with festivals running almost every week, hot days and sunlight til 9 or 10pm. Of course I’m bias, but I do love it.
